There are many opportunities St. Margaret Mary Parish offers for catechists, which count toward Catechist Certification in the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

Our Adult Religious Education classes (Weds., after the 7:00 pm Mass) are organized to address the theological topics required by the Diocese for certification. If you attend all three sessions devoted to a topic (or attend 2 sessions, and make arrangements with the instructor), you will have completed the certification requirements for that topic (included in the “Seeds” category of the Faith Harvest Program) . In other words, you do not have to attend all Adult Religious Education classes to work toward certification. See the schedule.

During Advent, Lent and the Easter Season, St. Margaret Mary Parish presents Adult Spirituality Seminars of three sessions each (Monday nights, as scheduled). This year’s Advent topic will be “The Names of Jesus: Deepening Our Relationship with the Lord.” Each of these seminars counts toward catechist certification (included in the “Soil” category of the Faith Harvest Program).

The End of the Year Program for our Parish School of Religion (May 16, 2010) will count toward certification (included in the “Sowing Methods” category of the Faith Harvest Program).
